Data Graphic - Custom Formula - Syntax and How To?

I want to add a Custom Formula icon to a Data Graphic. The formula
would be a function of Shape Data.

So question: What is the Syntax to do that? For example if I have
Shape Data elements Length and Width, what would the Custom Formula
look like to calculate the Area, (Length * Width)?
