Data import extremely slow

Hi

Since I changed to Windows XP & Office 2002, I have problem importing dat
from Access reside on my machine or from database reside on my company server
It is "Extremely" slow
It imports 10 records at each increment
Our IT installed several hot patches and has tried everything they can think of, but no success
Anyone could shed some light on this problem
