data in field calculating

I have a combo box field which stores drive combination
data. The entries are as such: 9 x 11, 9 x 14, 9 x 20,
etc. When the list shows in the form it is calculating
instead of showing what was entered. I have it set to
sort ascending and the results are not multiples (99, 126,
etc. so I'm not sure what is happening. Data type is text.

Something very weird is going on here.

Computers user "*" for the multiplication operator, so Access is not able to
calcualte these expressions. Example:
? Eval("9 x 11")
generates an error.
