Data labels disappear in excel 2003

Hello, I am having a problem with disappearing data labels
when the value is greater than the maximum value. The
problem is exactly the same as the one described in the
knowledge base article #811161. However, the fix given in
the article only seems to work with Office XP. Did anyone
else experience this problem and was able to find a
solution to it?
Thanks in advance.

The fix tells you to edit this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Excel\Options

For 2003, you need the next release, so try changing 10.0 to 11.0 in the
above. I haven't tested this, so be sure to back up that registry
before you break anything.

Jon, thank you for your reply. I've actually tried that,
but the new version of office apparently has a slightly
different registry structure, so I was not successful. In
addition, the fix below only works in conjunction with a
patch that Microsoft released recently for Office XP...
I would greatly appreciate any other suggestions.
