Data Loss due to Uninstalling Office 2007?

R

Ran

Hello,

I downloaded and installed Office 2007 beta several months ago, and now I
want to uninstall it, and return to my office 2003. My concern is that
documents, presentations, outlook accounts and other stuff that I’ve created
in 2007 would become unused because of the uninstallation.

So I wanted to ask if my concerns are true, or my 2007-created files will
not be harmed by the uninstallation of 2007 and installation of 2003?

Thanks in advance,

Ran.

Any files saved in native Office 2007 format will be unreadable by earlier
versions of Office.
If you wish to utilize those files with earlier versions of Office, open
them in Office 2007 and use the "Save As" feature and save them as "Office
2003" file format.

You downloaded and installed Office 2007 several months ago? Are you in
the technical beta? (If not, you shouldn't have been able to get Office
2007 back then). If you are, you should post in the private beta
newsgroups.
Which beta version did you install?

Which, if he is using a pre-Beta 2 version might not actually result in
97-2003 files that look anywhere close to what it did in 2007 due to
bugs pre-beta 2 in saving in those file formats.

Geez...Do you know if people were selling it during the tech beta phase?
That would be worse than doing it now...

The sad thing is that people are actually selling Office 2007 on ebay
already.

I suspect they were. I've notified my lead but nothing ever happens fast
enough to keep someone from spending money on something that's free - and
expires.

I submitted a bunch of those ebay ones to ebay so that they can remove
it.
