Data lost after save

I am using Excel 2000 to save my sales call records.
However I've recenly found that some of the records have
lost after saving.

Most of time I use Ctrl+S to save my work. After I found
that problem, I use Ctrl+S and the Save icon to save my
work twice. But I still find that some data will lose
when I open the file next day.

Please help.
