Data merge and unicode fonts

I'm trying to merge a Word document and Excel spreadsheet (both Office
2004). In the individual programs unicode (Russian) fonts show up fine, but
when I try to merge fields in Word I get ????????? where Russian words
should be.

Any advice?

Hey Joel,

The converter that Word uses to get your Excel information into Word, does
not support Unicode to the same extent that the full Office 2004 apps do, so
that's why you're seeing the '?????' characters.

One solution to the situation would be to create a new Word document and
Copy and Paste the Excel information into the Word Table.

You can then saved that Word file, and use it as the Data Source for your
Word main file.
