data-merge data sources

I am trying to set up a mail merge form letter using Word 2004 for MAC
and FileMaker Pro file as my database for the mailing list. However,
when I try to open the data source it is grayed out. I am using
Filemaker Pro 7. Does it not work for Pro 7 or do I have to go back to
FMP 6 or use another data source?

Word 2004 was made before FMP 7 was released. The file type and file format
of FMP 7 databases are different form previous versions. So either backtrack
to FMP 6, or see if an export to Excel works for you. If you can export the
FMP database or layout to Excel, you'll have no problem using the Excel
worksheet as your data source.
