Data Merge Manager

Help! I am trying to set up a data merge document in word. However,
though I click tools and data merge, the data merge manager does not
appear! I cannot get it back on screen and therefore cannot merge
documents. anyone know what has happened?

My guess is that it's appearing somewhere off screen. I don't think it will
help to Reset the menubar, though I may be wrong.

This tends to happen more often with the Formatting Palette, so there's a
tutorial to force the location of that one here:

In your case, where it says to type some lines into the immediate window,
substitute "Data Merge Manager" for "Formatting Palette".

I just tested this on my machine and the VBA worked to re-locate the merge
palette. I did not test the applescript but would expect it to work.

On re-reading Paul's problem statement, I agree. If he can see data
merge manager in the menu and not just merge documents, then re-setting
the menus won't help and your diagnosis will be correct. Sorry P, I
probably misled you.
