How do I do a data merge using names & addresses from the Mac Address Book?
You have to transfer all the contacts from Apple's Address Book to
Entourage.
The "quick and dirty" one-time method is to Export from Address Book as a
..vcf (vCard) file and then drag that into Entourage with its Address Book
open. That method is generally fine for names and postal addresses and email
addresses - usually what you need for a mail merge. There can be problems
with some phone fields (moving to wrong fields) and some fields (all the
"related names" fields, for example) not transferring at all. Same with
birthdays, etc. If you use these less common fields and want them available,
or you want to be able to sync regularly to keep the Entourage Address Book
up-to-date, you might want to look at my shareware script "Sync
Entourage-Address Book" (there are both Panther and Jaguar versions) at
MacScripter.net <

It's free for 14 days, so it's good for a one-time transfer and for trying
out syncing.
