Data not displaying in combo list box

Lori

Since installing Office Service Pack 3, my combo list boxes do not display
properly. Some only have data in 1 of 2 columns displayed on the form, some
have no data in either of the columns displayed on the form. However, when I
go into design view and open the source table, the data is there....for some
reason it is not displaying on the form. Have been using these same forms
for 10 years. Must be a conflict with a security update?

Can anyone offer assistance?

Lori,

I also had the same problem and received this response from Ken Snell (MVP).
My message is also shown here.

By chance, the field to which the combo box is bound is a text field and has
a Format property setting for the field in the table? If yes, this is a bug
that has been reported by many ACCESS users during past week. MS is aware of
the bug and is working on how to fix it.

Karl,

Thanks so much for the response. Any idea how long they have been working
on this problem? Just wondering if I should unistall Office 2003, reinstall
and only go as far as SP2.

Hi Lori,

I don't know, but it just started happening with the release of SP3. As Ken
mentioned, they've had many users report it during the past week.

In my case, I have temporarily removed the formatting I had appled to the
bound field, and it's working again now as it should.

You can see my thread "Microsoft Access Combobox with SP3" in this same forum.

Like you, I hope they fix it soon - but most likely it'll be included in the
October "Patch Tuesday" release.

Have a nice day!

In answer to Lori's question:

I just installed Office Pro 2003 (including Access) some months ago, and so
my version came part and parcel with SP2, so I can't check, but with Micro
$oft service packs for other products, when installed they are listed as
separate apps in Windows Add/Remove module, and so the update can be
uninstalled without having to uninstall the entire app. I'd look there first .

Microsoft has not released a "fix" for this problem yet, no.
