Data not showing from Linked Excel

Hi to all,

not sure if this is the right group to post this but here it is. I have an
Excel spreadsheet that use a web query to get daily updated currency rates.
Instead of transferring the data from the Excel to Access table, I decide to
link Excel to Access and work my queries from there, (reading only)

The spreadsheet has 4 col only, ID, CurrName, CAD, InCAD, columns 2-3-4 are
updated daily, coded from Access, works beautifully
My problem is once the spreadsheet is linked, no problem to link and on the
wizard, I see values in all columns. Once I open the linked file, I see data
in col 1 and 2, but not 3 and 4,
Can anyone explain why it is like that before I go too far and realize that
it simply cannot be done.

well, this is a WAG, but you might check the data types of the problem
fields in the linked Access table - make sure it matches the data type of
the columns in the Excel file.

I have tried all possible data type from general, numbers, text, currency and
still get the same problem.
I think what I am trying to so is simply not quite possible

sorry it didn't help, Al. my only other suggestion would be to save the
Excel files as text files, and link to the text files instead. that's what i
do, and have no problems with data showing up when the linked table is
opened.
