Making a chart from a PivotTable having a single column of data (a single
data series) I get always "Total" as a data series name. Using two or more
measures in the Pivot Table results in multiple Data Series, having each one
the right name (corresponding to the measure name as displayed in the header
of the PivotTable).
Repro is very easy:
- create a pivot table with two measures on columns and a time series on rows
- insert a chart selecting the pivot table
- you will see two data series with name corresponding to pivot table column
names (measure names)
- remove a measure from the pivot table: the chart will be updated renaming
the remaining measure to "Total"
- at this point there is no way to rename "Total" in another name.
Is this a bug or a "by design" feature?
