Data-Source Path BUG???

Hi guys,

I have a problem with the merge functionality: I got a data-source to
attach which is located on a network drive. Word refuses to find it but
it will open it if it is on the local drive.

Is this a feature (to what purpose?) or a plain ol' BUG?

I need a solution.

Are you sure you have the permissions set up right? Can
you open that file? Word should work fine even over a
network.

Please give more details.

The permissions are all open (chmod 777). Hence my head scratching
problem.
