I saved data from Excel and a spreadsheet to a 3 1/2" floppy and now it says
the disc is not formatted how do I get my data back?

Try reading on another PC (could be the floppy drive), if that fails your
data is gone!

That's why few people use floppies.

Try reading the disk on another machine.

Did you save the spreadsheet etc from within Excel? You
should not do that. Always use Windows Explorer instead to
move a copy of the file from your hard disk to the floppy.
