DATA TRANSFER TO RECORDABLE DISK

T

Ted Hayward

I'm trying to copy a number of documents from a 3.5in
floppy to a CD-RW. After selecting "Save As" and
specifying the relevant CD drive I keep getting the
message: "You do not have access to the folder 'E:\'.
See your administrator for access to this folder."

As I'm the sole user of the (stand-alone) PC - with
Windows XP Home Edition installed - I am
the "administrator".

Don't ever try to save directly to any type of removable media. Instead,
save to the HD, then copy to the disk/CD. And don't ever open a Word
document directly from a floppy. This is one of the top three sources of
document corruption.
