Just copy the file over. Inside they are the same data format. I do
that kind of thing every day. Mostly with less trouble than PC users
have among themselves.

How to copy? OK. As e-mail attachment works most of the time.
You may want to zip it first. In rare cases zipped up docs may help it
past some of the feral stupidity that passes for corporate virus
protection policy. In others it makes it worse.
How to zip? If you have Aladdin's dropzip, that's easy. You could try
the new (in Panther?) trick of ctrl-clicking the word file icon in
Finder and choosing create archive from the drop-down.

You can stick it on a flash dongle that has been formatted for PC (most
of them come like that)

You could FTP the zipped file.

Put the two machines on the same network and do Samba (SMB aka CIFS)
shares. If you are the fist Mac on the LAN, be prepared for some aggro
from the BOFH (Bastard Operator From Hell) in charge of your network.

save the files to a zip/jaz/cd-ROM/DVD-ROM/DVD-RAM disk that can be brought to the
PC and was formatted as a PC Drive previous to the save operation. (Even a Floppy
disk.) and just open the file in the PC.

There "may be" differences in fonts used and the physical shape of the charcters.
But if they are not severe, even you line and Paragraph beaks should be preserved.

To make the tansistion painless use a font that is common to both platforms such as
Helvetica, Arial, Times NewRoman, Couriour NewRoman comic sans, etc. generally
either the Mac or the PC will substitute fonts its no familar with what the OS
considers generic. which can cause line and Paragraph shifts and throw the document off.
