I have an InfoPath form that is published through forms Services in a
SharePoint environment. The form is used by the accounting group for their
monthly processes. Usually the form works really well, but I've had an issue
that has cropped up a handful of times and I haven't found any information on
it anywhere.
The form consists of a main account GL balance table and a reconciling
table. The totals from these two tables are added together to provide the
reconciled balance -these amounts should be equal. When the user clicks
submit the first check is to verify that these amounts are equal. If they
are not equal a message is displayed that the accounts must reconcile before
the form can be submitted.
The issue is that this error is displaying on forms where the amounts are
clearly equal - and it's only a handful of forms. It happened once about 4
months ago and has happened three times this week. What's even stranger is
if I alter the numbers ever so slightly, it will accept the totals as
reconciled and submit the form. For instance, I had one where the total was
2354561.94. I changed the amounts to equal 2354561.89 and it submitted
without issue.
Is this some sort of strange bug?
Any suggestions on how to make this data validation work correctly?
