Data validation Drop Down Box not showing

hi...

have used data validation with a YES/NO list restriction
in it, the entires can be input, however I am not seeing
the drop down box which is usually associated with this

any ideas - am using MS Excel 2000 - 9.0.4402 SR-1 with
windows 2000

You did not check "in-cell dropdown"?

Your DV cell is above the "freeze" line if you have Window>Freeze Panes
enabled?

I think that the DV and freeze panes was a problem with xl97 (fixed in xl2k).

And if it isn't the in-cell dropdown, try
tools|options|view
do you have objects being shown?

(Hide all hid the dropdown for me.)
