I hope someone can help me with this.
I had an issue where if I tried to update an Office Premium with the SP3 and
I was asked for the data1.msi file.
The problem is I have the Select Office CD and it does not have the
data1.msi file. I verify that my Office premium is SR-1a and according to
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;267839 I will need
the data1.msi SR-1A.
On the seclect CD there are numerous data1*.msi file, but not the
"data1.msi" itself. From the filesize, it look like all the file are the
same.
As a workaround, I copy the data1prm.msi to my desktop and rename it to
data1.msi. I reburn the CD with the additional data1.msi file and was able
to update to Office SP3 with the Select CD.
My question is: anyone tried this before and have it cause any issue. I
havent seen any side affect from doing this. I would appreciate if someone
from MS can answer this question.
Thanks
