Data1.msi keeps on asking for it

WHy is it that every once in a while office pops up a
windows asking for the location of this data1.msi file. Is
there a way where i can copy this to the drice so it never
asks for it.

If i do a full install it should not prompt for the
data1.msi file or should it? Is that the only solution to
copy the cd to users drive.

Hi Dan,

If the MS Installer thinks it needs to update files
or repair something it will ask for the CD.
Installing from a source that's always available
(such as the hard drive or a server) or disabling the Windows
Installer service are the usual methods for
not needing the CD.

Hi Dan,

Another solution would be to zap the Windows Installer entry in the
Registry and reinstall Office.

Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference
to Office. Once that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Office
to point the Windows Installer to your installation CD:
