DATA1.MSI

While doing updates on PC with MS/Office, (SP-1, SP-1A,
AND SP-3) after inserting requested disk in the CD,
getting message regards not finding DATA1.MSI file, even
though it is a seperate file on disk that is easily found
using Windows Explorer.

Work in a hospital IS department that purchases Office
via Open License Agreement process, and have tried MANY
different copies of the media....all fail. Have
Microsoft SP-3 CD, but that fails as well, on multiple
PCs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, as we do not want
to have to uninstall and re-install office on all our PCs
just to get the updates installed.

Hi Dave,

Was Office installed from a CD or from an Office
Admin Installation Point (OAIP)?

When asked to insert the CD check the dialog box
at the bottom to see what the name of the CD is
for 'use feature from'. If it's the same as the
one you're using then check to see if the MS Installer
(MSIExec.exe) properties have been updated to 1.1 or
higher.
