Database calculation

I have a database that contains a table that lists vehicle type and
mpg.

I would like to create a form that has a drop down field from the
database that lists the vehicle types. Also on the form other fields
would be included like number of miles, number of days, price/gallon,
etc.

I would like to use the mpg found from the database when the user
selects a certain vehicle and use this field to help calculate how much
it would cost to rent a vehicle vs driving a personal vehicle. I have
the formulas but don't know how to capture the mpg field from the
database when the user selects the vehicle type.

I know databases and I know FP, but I don't know the two together. Any
help would be GREATLY appreciated or any reference to white papers
would be helpful as well.

I have created a form with a drop down list that selects from the
database, but don't know how to get the mpg field. I am using an Access
query to populate the dropdown and the mpg field is part of the query.

Thank YOU!
