Dear Sir/Madam,
I have purchased an IBM T43 Notebook with Windows XP Service pack 2 (fully
updated via Windows Update) and separately purchased Office Professional 2003
with Business Contact Manager (BCM). I installed the Office 2003 CD then
followed by the installation of the BCM CD. The software has been
Authenticated via the Internet.
Whilst setting up my e-mail accounts I have been clicking the “Remind me
Later†button on the BCM message prompt “Would you like to use Business
Contact Manager with your current Outlook profile?†until yesterday when,
after setting up my e-mail accounts, clicked “Yesâ€. Unfortunately, I get the
message “Database creation has failedâ€.
I have tried re-installing BCM over the existing install (repair) as well as
two complete uninstall and install of the BCM software to no avail. I have
been in the Knowledge Base and checked/implemented the following recommended
actions, including restarting my notebook:
1) MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM service is in Automatic and Started
2) There are no disabled items in Outlook 2003
3) I have added my account into the BCM User Group (was omitted)
None of the above has affected a cure to the problem which is frustrating.
I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Many thanks for your assistance.
