Database damage

Can anyone tell me why Entourage 2004 gives me a database damaged do you
want to run the database utility just about every day? What might I do to
prevent this?

I'm using Entourage 2004, Mac OSX 10.4.6, all updates done. Importing one
POP account, my .mac mail, and an Exchange account on the same identity.

I AM THINKING IT IS LINKING!

SERIOUSLY, the only common thread that I have been able to see in my
sometimes frequent need to rebuild my damaged database is that it seems
to happen when I have been building links between messages and events,
notes, etc. Further, after rebuild, all of those created links are
gone.

I'm going intentionally linkless for a while to see if that's really
the culprit.

Could be linking... The only links I have/had are between messages and
replies, which happen automatically. Is there a way to disable that
feature?
