Database Design & Form due to Brain Block

L. Ann

I have been working on this for the past few days and now have total Brain
Block. I want to create a database that has a customer (name & account #,
workorder (WO #, date, amount), labor code (code, description, and billing
rate) tables. I can create the tables, but my problem is building the form
that let's me enter the customer info, WO table info plus the labor details (
could be more than 1 labor code per workorder. What relationships should I
have? I would llike this all on one form.

Hi, L. Ann.

Just a thought and I hope it will help that brain block.

I don't know what version of Access you have, but if you open Access and
then click on File/New on the right hand side of the screen a panel opens
which gives options for the new file. Under Templates you can click on "On my
computer". On the Databases tab, there is one called Service Call Management
which seems to be for a Company which provides services to others. From what
you wrote that seemed to be the idea that I got. You could just create a
database from the Template. When it opens, it asks you for certain
information - the name/address/contact info for your company etc. It has the
type of information you spoke of - e.g. WorkOrder, Date/Amount/billable
hours/ billing rate, etc. I am so hopeful that this is the kind of thing that
you want so that you can have a free weekend:) and put your feet up.
