database edit

I have a test database running that takes info from a form and populates an
access database. Works great, but I cannot figure out how to edit or delete
a record without publishing the site to my PC, opening the record in "Access"
editing the record then uploading the changed file. I've tried opening the
remote database in FP and then opening the file but when I click on the
folder with the database it just locks up the PC.

There has to be a better way.

Have you looked at the Database Interface Wizard?
File->New...
In FP2003 click "More Web Site Templates"
Pick Database Interface Wizard
IMPORTANT: Tick the box "Add to current web site"

You can not open a DB on a server (in FP or FTP)
- You can File Export the DB to your PC, edit it , and Copy it back to your web
- Or, See Ronx tip on using the DIW

As always thanks for the suggestions. I used the database wiZard to set this
up, it works great but I cannot see how to edit an individual record with the
wizard. I opened the remote site in FP, and tried export but get an error
message that the "server sent a message FP couldn't understand". Same
message when I open the local site and try import. The site is not
sharepoint and FP Exten are enabled.

I have been successfull publishing the site, remote to local, opening the
DB, making edits then publishing back to the remote site but so far thats the
only way I've found to make the changes. It works but it's ugly.

Did you try the Database Interface Wizard - this is NOT the Database
Results Wizard.

Thanks...got it........ the DIW has solved most of my problem. I can delete
a record, add a record. I cannot edit a record. Says cannot perform...if
error persists contact server admin. At this point, I'm good. Deleting was
the most important piece for me and if I need to delete and reenter, I can
live with that.

Thanks again.............
