Database error (0x8004E14)

We use Microsoft Project Professional 2003 and Microsoft Project Server 2003 for managing projects in our company. We have several on-going projects, and there are some problems concerning our work process.

There is an administrative project with which a problem occurs, and we don't know how to handle it. The problem is that, when updating this project's tasks to Project Server, the following error occurs in Microsoft Office Project Server Spooler:
Publish New and Changed Assignments - Database error (0x8004E14)
However, the tasks are updated to MS Project, but the problem is that the team members don't get the confirmation to this. When they visit the Tasks page in Project Server, this project's tasks are still marked red. Also, the tasks are still in Project Manager's Updates page, also marked red.

This error indicates assignment duplication in the database. There are some
known vulnerabilities when using the "assign myself" feature that can cause
this to happen. A hotfix for this problem is in the release process at
Microsoft and should be obtainable in the next couple days.
