Database Interface Wizard Error

Hello,

I have a new web where I have created a database interface backend to
manage the db.

The following is only happening with this one web on the server.

I have created the database interface using all the defaults through
FP.

After I enter the username and password to login I get

The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot
be displayed.

HTTP 500 - Internal server error
Internet Explorer

I went back and completely removed the web from IIS and enabled FP
extensions.

This is only happening with this one web.

Any ideas?

In appears I temporarily sovlved my problem, but...

The fix was to enable parent paths in ISS for the web. This is
disabled by default in IIS 6 due to being a security risk.

How do I make the problem go away with and disable the parent paths as
advised by Microsoft.

Why would FP want this enabled if it is a risk?
