Database Not Available

Recently when I tried to log on to a database it gave me the path to the DB and then said something like, "the databaes is not currently available." This would lead me to believe that someone is logged on with Exclusive access but that was not the case. Is there any other situation where I would get this message? Database is secured properly and has worked fine for two months. In addition I have not made any updates recently that I feel would have caused this.
