Database Out of Synch issue

In the last week, we had two database problems which our DBA team promptly
resolved; one was a transaction log issue-they added space to the transaction
logs and things were back to normal; the other was an error on the database
server 'Microsoft pkm search filter daemon encountered a problem and needed
to close' and an associated entry in the application-error-lob; The DBA's
fixed this issue with the installation of 'full text search services for
sql'.

We now have projects with 1 week+ of updates that are reflected in the
Microsoft project plan when opened in project professional, and are reflected
in resources time-sheets; However, when opening the project in project
center (via project web-access), the updates are not reflected. I have
attempted to republish the project plan, republish assignments (both
selecting over-writing or not selecting over-writing actual values entered by
resources), and publish new-and-changed assignments. none of these seem to
be synchronizing the data between the project-file and the online
project-center view.

As our executives use the project center view to monitor progress, this is
something that needs to get cleared up. I appreciate any assistance anyone on
this forum can give.

I realised after posting this that I probably should have provided further
Information On this issue; Project Server version 2003; Microsoft SQL
version 2000 with service pack 3a; Windows 2003 server on database, web, and
sharepoint server (3 servers);

We have seen 'information' on the data-base server event log specific to PKM
Search Filter Daemon; on the project web server we saw errors which lead us
to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889500; we followed the instruction on
this which cleared up the event log errors, but are still unable to sync data
from the project-professional to the web view. Just for chuckles, I had one
of the other project managers open up the biggest issue (project plan for our
new data-center) and re-publish; he is able to re-publish but updates do not
occur onto the web; at this point I am close to logging a support call with
microsoft (per incident). If you want to contact me directly:

microsoft support had me walk through a number of steps which established
that new projects created since the Log File issue are not having problems.
Only the project that was open when the log files filled up seems to be
having the sync problem. in the database its last published date and time
coincide exactly to the date/time of the transaction log files issue.
Microsoft now has my application log files from my Project Server, Sharepoint
Server, and Database Server and my PRoject database. I will update this
posting with solutions when they are found for everyone's refrence. I guess
we are relatively lucky. we are early in our productive use of Project
Server.

Tom:

Probably the most practical solution is to save this plan to XML and
reimport it to the system. This will effectively eliminate what seems to be
corruption in the binary record. After deleting and importing, follow the
directions here to remove file bloat that results from this first part of
the therapy:

Correct me if I am wrong, but if I delete the current project and re-import,
I will loose all historical information, issues, risks, and documents that
are linked to specific tasks, etc. I am trying to avoid this if I can. This
is my last recourse. I saw the document on your website yesterday. Lets see
what MS. Comes up with in the next couple of days, and then I will try it.

I promised the list a final resolution. we had to export and re-import the
corrupted project. Attempts to fix things at either a database level
(rebuild the project from the binary) did not work. regretably this lost all
links between the project tasks and related documents, issues and risks.
