Database Path

I have MS Access 2000 and have a BookJobs database and when I open it from my
C Drive and try to open Quotes Form from it, it is giving me error "G:\SH
Data.Mdb is not a valid path".Can anybody help me how do I change the path so
that the SH Data.Mdb filw which is on C Drive can be accessed by main
database.

(If I put both database on G drive it works fine) I have copied this
database on C drive and try to work on it. So I need to change the path of
Linked SH Data.Mdb from G Drive to C.

This sounds like a split database, that is, one where the tables exist in a
separate database file and are linked into the other, correct? If so, you
need to use the Linked Table Manager to re-link the tables to the database
on the C drive. The Linked Table Manager can be found in Tools>Database
Utilities> Linked Table Manager.

Thanks Roger for your prompt response. Greatly appreicated.

We have Bookjobs database and whenever we add any data into any table it
writes to the other database which is SH Data.mdb.

As per your instrucation I checked "Linked Table Manager" and it shows me
all the tables with path G:\SH Data.mdb. Can you please guide me how can I
change this path from G to C drive?

First of all, are you sure you want to? It is perfectly reasonable to have
the one database (known as the Front-end or FE) on your C: drive and have
the other database (Back-end or BE) on the network drive. This way many FEs
can connect to the same BE.

However, if you're sure you want to do this, just select all tables, click
the "Always prompt for new location" check box, click OK, and then browse to
the database where the tables exist. It will do the re-linking for you.

Thanks Roger,

I have changed re-linked the path. But stimm I will have to chnage the pathe
of some other tables which shows on J: Drive and it did not change to C:.
Also I need to change the ODBC settings of accounting software which shows me
as G: Drive.

Anyway I know now how to change. Thanks for your help. I greatly appreciate
it.

Open the database; close any open forms; and choose Tools... Database
Utilities... Linked Table Manager from the menu. Select all the tables and
click OK; navigate to the actual location of the backend (SH Data.mdb) and
select it.

Waaaaaaiiiiiiiiiitttttttt a second....if the 2nd database can't be opened to
change the links? Well, how can that be done?
