Hello, I set two user ID name and passwords with different
permissions. However, it came up two files, one is main
database and the other is security file. And I have to
open the shortcut to open the database. If I dont wanna
this kind of setting, I wanna set it as a regular database
without opening shortcut to open database, what should I
do?

Whether you have implemented users/passwords or not, Access *always* uses a
workgroup file.

I'm not clear on what you are asking. If it is
1. - you want to keep the security, but not have to use a shortcut...
Then you can join the secure workgroup file by default. Be aware that
Access will use this for all sessions (i.e. for all your databases). To do
this use the workgroup administrator to join the secure workgroup (if 2000,
Start, Run, wrkgadm.exe; if 2002/2003 use Tools, Security, Workgroup
Administrator)

2. - you don't want to keep the security....
There are steps outlined in the security FAQ on how to remove security.

Yes, I know, but the problem is Now I have to open
shortcut to open my database, if I just open the main
database file directly, it won't work. So is there any
chance I can take that permission stuff, so I can open
the main database file directly? Thanks a lot.
