Database Properties Window not appearing - Visio 2000 SP 2

K

KVG

I have added 2 tables and previously had full access to the Database
Properties window. Two days later, I open the same file, and when I right
click and select 'Database Properties', the window no longer appears. I have
restarted the application and machine. I have also attempted to start new
diagrams - yet I still cannot see the Database Properties window. Also, I
have ensured that Tools --> Options --> Advanced, Run in Developer Mode is
not checked. Please help.

Check to be sure that the option "Enable Automation Events" is checked
(enabled) under Tools > Options. Also check that Visual Basic (VBA) is
enabled.

If it's happening on new drawings as well as existing ones, then it sounds
like the install is damaged, or some recently installed software or driver
is causing a problem.

First thing to try is to force a full repair from the Control panel. This
will probably require your install CD or other install point (Network
share, etc.). Start the Control Panel, locate the Visio install, and
choose Change - this should trigger the Visio installer, and allow you to
Completely Reinstall the application.

If Reinstall runs without errors, but doesn't fix the problem, then you
will want to look at other software updates added to your system recently
to see what may have caused the problem. Check for system updates (OS
service packs or updates), Office updates, new software, updated drivers,
etc.
