Database Security

Chris Wood

Hi,

I created a database ("First Database") and set up the
security for it, including workgroup, users, groups, and
permissions. I tried to apply this security to another
database ("Second Database") that was created by another
user with a different security setup.

In Second Database, I can join the workgroup for First
Database. However, users, groups, and passwords do not
change. Do I have to manually change this, or is there a
way to pull in the group and user setup from First
Database into Second Database?

Thanks,

Chris Wood

Hi,

No there is not. Example:

WorkGroupA WorkGroupB
----------------------- ------------------------
BobA BobB
JohnA JohnB
JaneA JaneB

There's no way to have result of:

WorkGroupA
-----------------------
BobA
JohnA
JaneA
BobB
JohnB
JaneB

Would need to manually add them.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.

Eric: Glad to see you in the groups, but in the future, could you please
quote at least some of the original questions? Answers only aren't that
useful to others.
