Database size

Hi there,

Are there any limitation on database size? Is there a
maximum number of rows in the single table that the engine
can reliably handle?

Thanks

There is a limitation on database size in Access. For Access 97, it is 1GB;
for Access 2000 and newer, it is 2GB.

But, by linking tables in multiple databases, you can effectively have a
larger size limit. We have had reports here in the newsgroup of people who
exceed the limits using this approach and say their performance is
acceptable. But I know personally someone, who because of performance issues
at even smaller sizes, went to a one-client Access front end to a
four-processor, high-speed server backend running SQL Server, so YMMV.
