Database Splitter Slow Performance

Confused

I split my DB and now it is extremely slow in opening any of the forms. I
then copied the whole original DB and put it on the same server. It is not
nearly as slow as the split DB. I thought splitting would make it faster
and more manageable for me to make updates etc.? I even went back and split
it manually with same results. Any ideas?

You can also check that your antivirus/antimalware is set NOT to scan .mdb
files, both on the server and the workstation. You didn't mention what os's
are involved, but installing current service packs and recent drivers for
the network cards can sometimes make a big difference. With the split db,
each user should (MUST) have a local copy of the FE on their own
workstation. Sharing a FE over the network is both slower and much riskier
for db corruption.

I'm the only one accessing it right now, but it is still slow. I was hoping
you can tell me how to set McAfee not to scan.mdb files. I went through all
the different menus. I see an exclusion page for On-Demand Scanning but that
didn't seem to work... Greatly appreciate.
