Database Updates from a Drawing

Is is possible drive database updates from the drawing the same way it's
possible to drive a drawing from a database?

I believe the database wizard supports both directions (i.e. you can refresh
a drawing from the database that was originally created)

I can refresh a drawing from the updated database, but I am only able to
create a new table in the original databse rather than just update it.

You're correct the 'creation' process is from the visio side when using the
database wizard. The second scenario is to reverse engineer from visio, but
the trip back (i.e. database forward-engineering) has to be done from the
visio enterprise architect edition, or a third-party product, and does not
work with the information but only with the structure.
