Database window is not opening

Hi,

When i open a MS Access 2003 database of 8180 KB, Database window is not
opening. All the options in menubar are disabled. I tried pressing F11.
Inspite of it, I am unable to see the database window. Very few items in each
menu's are enabled and those are not helping me to fix the problem.

Kindly suggest me me a solution. Thanks

Is this a new behavior or are you opening the database for the first time? If
new the creator of the database might have purposely disabled things.

Try opening the database while holding down the Shift key.

Hi,

This is a new behavior. I work on this database often. This database is
present on a network drive. Many people use this database. I tried opening
the database by holding the shift key also. Still it is not working.

Ouch! Hopefully you have a recent backup handy. Make a backup of it now and
put it away for safe keeping.

Try opening a new database file and importing everything from the problem
database to it.

If that doesn't work, try a compact and repair. The JetComp utility does a
better job of it. You can download it from Microsoft.
