database window will not open

Hi everyone,

I am hoping that someone can help me. This is my first access project that
I took on. I have been working with someone else's database and making
modifications.

Today I was working on queries and then all of a sudden I am not able to
access the database window. It will not allow me to see anything other than
the forms and reports created from the switchboard. I tried holding down the
shift key while opening the database and the check box under tools, options
that states to open the database window is checked already. I don't know
what else to do but to start over in another database which I don't want to
do....
