DatasourceMulti-table queries are not visible as datasource for a

I am currently setting up a Word doc that will contain multiple tables based
on 100's of queries from Ms Access. I understand the how to , but not why I
am unable to view the complete list of queries from my Access mdb only those
queries with a single table source or the tables themselves. All queries
that contain multiple data sources are not in the list of datasources when I
select the database tool in Word. Is there a piece I am missing or do I have
to convert all my queries into tables?

Thanks,

Karen

Some queries definitely disappear when the connection method is OLEDB, e.g.
a. parameter queries
b. UNION queries
c. queries using one or two of the financial functions
d. queries that have been set up as views in ADO (I'd have to check the
details on this, but in essence Jet supports both QUERIES and VIEWS and
sometimes they are treated differently)

There may be other categories.

However, in my experience, ordinary queries with JOINs appear in the list.
Do your missing queries fall into any of the above categories, or have other
"unusual" characteristics?

Generally, the only way Word sees /all/ queries is to connect via DDE, which
has to be able to start Access. You may find that more appear if you link
using ODBC. But in both cases, you may also lose Unicode data.

Thanks for the suggestion, however I am new to this feature - so what are the
step by step procedures to access the DDE connection - when I tried an ODBC
connection - it would fail.

I have been able to locate and access the entire list of queries from my
database, unfortunately, I am still unable to complete the task.

I am able to select the query, set the table format and Insert data - this
is where it fails I get the following error:

"Word is unable to open the data source".

I have tried it with Access open and Closed on initiating the processs.
what else do I need to do?

Worldwide Company Revenue (by Law Department Size)
Error! Cannot open data source.
As stated at the beginning of this section, “Law Department Size†is based
on the number of law

this is the sample of the final process in my word doc.
