I am developing drawings for our campus network and am using text blocks to
identify individual data ports in each buildings diagram. I'll soon be
finished with the drawings and ready to move into the database
creation\integration phase.
Each text block has "Special" properties under the Format menu. One of
the properties under the "special" menu is an ID, which is a unique
identifier for each block. Is this ID a candidate as a Primary Key field in
the database?

if the id is truly unique, yes it is a candidate. as an
aside (just curious) are you using EIA606 for the wiring
documentation standard?
