date change in word docs

Everytime i open a doc in word the date changes to
4/22/09. Even if i don't save any changes. The date on
my computer is correct. Any thoughts?

Where is this date displayed? Is there a field code in
your new documents? Perhaps it is a field code having the
CreateDate? Press Alt F9 to toggle field codes ON. Delete
any bogus codes from existing documents.
