date conditional format

Hi all, Im having a little difficulty getting this to work.

I have a field labeled "FSP Quarterly" and I am trying to have this format
so the field is shaded if the date is within 15 days of being due or is
expired. I have looked through the forum with little luck. Thanks much

What have you discovered about "conditional formatting"? How far have you
gotten other than looking through forums?
