Is it possible to enter a date on an individual line of OneNote using a
shortcut i.e. Ctrl + ; in MS Excel?

Alan,
Try Alt-Shift-F - post back and let us know if you need something different.

Hello Kathy,
I tried both Alt-Shift-F and Alt-Shift-T but neither seem to work. All they
do is open up the FILE and TOOLS menus. I am using a Toshiba Tablet so not
sure if that is the problem.

Alan,
Go to Help --> About Onenote. Check to see if SP1 is installed. If it isn't,
do Help--> Check for Updates and download and install the updates. Then it
should work.

It would be nice if there were a refresh button for the time and date that is
Inserted, or that you could highlight the existing date, and click Insert to
overwrite it with the new date. The time and date on the page itself has a
nice update feature.

Kathy,

I actually tried that but the software came bundled with the Toshiba Tablet
and I cannot seem to download the Service Pack as both versions keeps asking
for the CD and the only CD's that came with the PC are the recovery disks.

Alan,
That's what I thought was going on. Luckily for you, Microsoft already knows
about and has a solution available for your. Check out this Knowledge Base
article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[ln];875556

The part you are most interested in is about 1/3 of the way down the article
under "Workarounds". It reads:
Note Toshiba provides a compressed image of the OneNote CD on the "Toshiba
Recovery and Applications / Drivers" DVD that is located in the following
folder:
CDROM Drive\COMPS\MICROSOFT OFFICE ONENOTE 20030\MANUAL

See if doing what the KB article says helps with getting the download. You
really want it - the new date stuff is only one of many new features you
will want to play with.

Hello Kathy,

Thanks so much for the tip. The only problem right now is that the file
mentioned in the workaround is not on the CD. The directories are all the
way they show them but no file. Not sure what to think now.
