Date Field in Template

J

John Mohler

I want to have a Word Template that when opened the first
time inserts the current date into the document. However,
on subsequent reopening of the document, I want the
original date to stay the same. For instance, when I open
a document created with this template, I want to see the
document's creation date not the current system date. We
use this as a memo template and cannot reference when the
memo was created if the date updates whenever opened. I
currently am using a date field...

If you are starting your new documents using a template (.dot), use a {
CREATEDATE } field instead of a { DATE } field.
