Date Fields corrupted on 'Insert Database' from Access.

I've got a new computer - Windows XP Pro and Office Pro
2003. I Formerly used ME and I inserted selected tables
from Access Databases into Word (FROM Word Database
toolbar) as a Table to incorporate them in notices (they
are in fact details of roster dates for church duties).
No problem. With my new system all the date field
inserted are changed into the US short date format.
Access holds them as UK short date or UK longdates (i.e.
(04/01/2004 or 04 January 2004). Both of these now appear
as 01/04/04.How do I get out of this please?

Hi Kenholdsworth,

I'm guessing you had an earlier version of Office, before,
as well? This sounds like the result of an OLE DB connection
to the database instead of DDE.

In Word: Tools/OPtions/General, activate the option to
"Confirm conversions on open". Go through the steps again to
connect to the database, choosing DDE.
