Date format in Excel X

I have to enter data in Excel including dates, Although international
settings specify dd-m-yy format Excel insists on interpreting 05-07 as
May 7 instead of 5 July and nothing I do seems to change that. Is it
possible to set European style date formats?

Some language/country versions of XLv.X didn't pick up the proper date
format from the international settings. Have you updated to 10.1.9? If
not, get the update at Mactopia:
