Date format problem after Mac Book Pro Upgrade

I have upgraded from a Powerbook to a Mac Book Pro and transferred all
my files, programs and settings using Migration assistant but now when
I open any Excel files with dates in the formats have been changed from
dd/mm/yy to mm/dd/yy. The date setting in System
Preferences/International is correct (and the same as on the old
Powerbook) but Excel now switches all date formats around. I am using
the same version of Excel 2004 for Mac as on the Powerbook. Does
anybody know how to reset the date format so al my old files will
automatically show dd/mm/yy?

Hmmm... the only way I can reproduce this is if I make the change in
System Preferences without closing XL first (XL reads the format from
System Preferences when it starts up).

Have you updated Office (to 11.3.3)?

What language version are you using?
