Date format when exporting to Excel

Hi
We have a database used by several people. They often export data to Excel
by right-clicking the table and choosing Export. This normally works fine
but on a couple of occasions, dates have been converted from dd/mm/yyyy to
mm/dd/yyyy - not all of them but just those that make sense that way round.
eg 01/04/2000 converted to 04/01/2000 but 23/07/2000 stayed the same.

I have tried to reproduce the problem unsuccessfully. For example, if I
change the international setting to US, all the dates convert.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Don't know for sure, but it sounds like Access is using the US Date format as
the default, so any date that can be interpreted as being in US format is
exported that way. I would create a query that forces the format into US
format and then export from there. Sounds retarded, but that should solve
the problem.

Thanks
Yes I suppose that's the answer. It's annoying because I' like to know why
it's happening. Oh well...
